We are a new congregation only a few years old.

Here at First Community Church our preaching and teaching is grounded in the Bible, Christian tradition, proven by personal experience and tested by reason.

We feature traditional worship.

The heart of our ministry is Christ's outreaching love.

We strive to equip all Christians to minister wherever Christ would have them serve and witness in deeds as well as words which help and heal.

We believe that God is calling each person to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Him so that each person will experience a richer life that can be shared with others. All of the church's activities and programs are focused on this goal.

Pastor Jim has a faithful heart, a commitment to preaching God's Word,and leading people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. His life mission is to present the "Good News of Jesus" in a clear and rational manner. You often hear him say... "Come now let us reason together."

He is originally from Binghamton, New York. Pastor Jim grew up in the church and was saved in 1967.

He began his ministry in 1970 as a student pastor and was ordained in 1975.

He has been a pastor and teacher for over 29 years before joining us here at First Community Church.

Jim is a graduate of State University of New York at Cortland (Teaching) and Transylvania Bible College (Ministry). He also has a two year degree from

SUNY in Youth Education and Counseling. He also studied art and sign language at Broome Community College (SUNY). Pastor Jim is sometimes known as a clown by the name of "Clod." (Clown Ministry) He has served churches in Pennsylvania, Wisconson, Rhode Island, and New York. He also taught public school for several years. Pastor Jim is a "City Boy" acclimating to country life.

One scripture that means a lot to him is 2 Timothy 1:12 - "...nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed,

and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."

He has two sons, Lee and Phillip and six grand children, Aleena, Ashlyn, Alexsia, Calvin and Jaden,Rachael and first Great-grand daughter Gi'Annalee.

Pastor Jim enjoys his grand children, reading his Bible, computer games, walks on the beach, painting and drawing, organizing church events, and reading good books in his spare time. As a New York native he also enjoys cheering for the New York Yankees, but is becoming a Buccaneer fan since moving here!

Each week he has the Children's Sermon and there is always something new in "Pastor Jim's Brown Bag."

Special Note:

Pastor Jim was ordained into the Southern Baptist Conference on October 30, at 7:00 pm at the First Community Church of Dade City where he serves as pastor.

He was ordained on the first anniversary of the church.

speak for the other members, had such a caring, energetic,

God Loving Pastor. It is such a pleasure to attend the services

of this church and participate in all that the church does to reach

out to others to spread Gods good news.
